Chengdu, abbreviated as "Rong" and also known as Rongcheng or Jincheng, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province. It is the capital of Sichuan Province, a sub provincial city, a mega city, a national central city, a national historical and cultural city, an international comprehensive transportation hub city, a western economic center, a western science and technology innovation center, a western foreign exchange center, and a national advanced manufacturing base. Chengdu has a long history. As early as about 4500 to 3700 years ago, a series of ancient Shu ancestors' settlement centers known as the "Baodun Culture" had already appeared in the Chengdu Plain.
