Chengdu, abbreviated as "Rong" and also known as Rongcheng or Jincheng, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province. It is the capital of Sichuan Province, a sub provincial city, a mega city, a national central city, a national historical and cultural city, an international comprehensive transportation hub city, a western economic center, a western science and technology innovation center, a western foreign exchange center, and a national advanced manufacturing base. Chengdu has a long history. As early as about 4500 to 3700 years ago, a series of ancient Shu ancestors' settlement centers known as the "Baodun Culture" had already appeared in the Chengdu Plain. In 316 BC, Qin conquered Shu and established Shu Commandery and Chengdu County, which became the capital of Shu Commandery. In 311 BC, the construction of Dacheng and Shaocheng was recognized by later generations as the documented symbols of Chengdu's founding. Chengdu is one of the top ten ancient capitals in China and one of the first batch of national famous historical and cultural cities, with rich historical sites and cultural attractions, such as Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, Qingcheng Mountain, Wuhou Temple, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Jinsha Site, etc.
